Vault · Privacy Policy

Your files stay
on your device.

This policy explains how Vault handles the files you choose, what it keeps on your device, and what happens when you contact support.

Operated by Ethan ChanApplies to Vault 1.0Effective October 21, 2026

Processed on your device

Vault reads, previews, extracts and creates the archives and files you choose, on your iPhone or Mac. File contents, filenames and archive passwords are not sent to the developer.

The current version contains no networking code for its features, no advertising and no third-party analytics SDK, and it doesn’t require an account.

Kept on your device

So it’s ready next time, Vault keeps these on your device: your settings and last choices in the compression panel, recently opened archives, recent extractions, the last save location, and the access bookmarks the system keeps so Vault can reopen files or folders you chose.

On iPhone, files you drag into New Archive are copied into Vault until they’re compressed, removed or cleared. When you mount an archive, Vault makes a copy for the Files app or Finder to read. Temporary copies made for previewing or sharing are deleted after use or the next time Vault starts. None of this is sent to the developer.

Passwords and Face ID

Archive passwords you choose to remember are stored in the system Keychain on this device and don’t sync with iCloud. When one is used to unlock an archive, the system asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Biometric authentication is handled by the system; Vault never receives your face or fingerprint data.

A password you type when creating an archive is used only for that archive and isn’t saved.

Files you send elsewhere

When you save files to iCloud Drive or another file provider, they sync under that provider’s policies. When you use Share or Shortcuts, the app or recipient you choose receives that content. You start all of these; Vault has no cloud service of its own.

Diagnostics

Vault doesn’t upload diagnostic logs itself. If you choose in system settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide diagnostic information such as crash reports to the developer, as described by Apple.

Visiting this website

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The hosting service processes network request information needed to deliver and protect the pages, such as IP addresses, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

These pages load no advertising or third-party analytics scripts. If you switch between light and dark appearance, your browser keeps that one choice; otherwise the pages follow your system.

Support email

When you write to ac_block@outlook.com, your email address, message and any attachments you add are used to handle your request and pass through the email service provider.

Please include only what’s needed to describe the problem; never include archive passwords. These emails are used only to reply to and resolve your request and are deleted once they’re no longer needed. You can ask for deletion at any time. Support emails are never sold or used for advertising.

Your choices

You can remove archives from your recents in Vault, and remove saved passwords in Settings › Password Vault.
